Let’s face it, United Kingdomers. We are notorious for our teeth. I’m not sure where the stigma comes from, be it our habitual visits to the pub, the unvarying intake of cigarettes, or the black tea we down morning, noon, afternoon, and night. I’m not sure about you, but I no longer want to be associated with the yellowish, brown tint of a grin we mates are so often associated with.

This is why I am taking steps to whiten my teeth. Granted, my teeth were never that yellow to begin with- considering my pub crawls only happen every other weekend and I’m what I like to call a social smoker, rather than a chronic smoker. NHS certainly does not cover any kind of cosmetic operation, so I went to a private dentist to get a quote on a teeth whitening operation. Yet I was nowhere near impressed. The dentist charges over three hundred pounds for a simple teeth whitening!

I moved on. I would not this minor detour get in the way of my soon-to-be-white teeth.

And, much to my excitement, I found a teeth whitening process that costs much less than the three hundred pounds I had previously been quoted on. It’s a professional dental whitening kit you order online and do it yourself.

I narrowed it down to two brands: Dentaworks was the first brand and the second was TheSmilePlace. Each brand offers amazing deals and glorious results. With both brands, you get the same results that you do at the dentist, for a much lower cost. And you notice the difference within two to three days. I opted to try both brands out and my teeth are now glistening white.

Next I’m going for braces.

How Safe is Your Online World?

{summary}

In this day and age, people, including myself, are always online. The Internet, in my opinion, is crucial for studying, for shopping, for working, for socializing. The list really does go on and on. And on. And on.

If you think about it, how many hours a day are you online? You wake up in the morning, check your email and perhaps your Facebook messages. Instead of getting the newspaper delivered to your door, maybe you check NYTimes.com instead. Then you go to work or school and you use Google for a myriad of things to assist you in learning and working. You come home and use the internet to socialize and maybe you swing by an online store or two to get those new discounted boots for fall or the book you need for class. I even order my groceries online.

What I’m getting at is that we are online constantly. But are we protected? Are viruses, spyware and other potentially harmful things creeping closely to us, watching our every move?

There is a solution: Internet security. Webroot is “the best security in an unsecured world.” It has top-rated antivirus software, antispyware and other highly rated products that offer security solutions. And it doesn’t matter if you’re a student, working from home, or own your business. Webroot provides security for everyone.

Also, Webroot has just launched Webroot Internet Security Complete, which is the most complete online identity protection program. It scans your PC for threats up to five times faster than Webroot’s other programs, has 10 GB of secure online file storage and sharing, and even cancels and replaces your credit cards if your wallet stolen.

And the good news is, I have the inside scoop on saving with Webroot. Right now you can receive 10% off by using the exclusive code, vouchergurus10 at checkout. This day in age, it’s important to be protected.

Remember to visit VoucherGurus to save with Webroot coupons and codes before you shop.

Autumn Fashions for the Well-Rounded Woman

{summary}

Autumn is upon us and so are the long-awaited jumpers, stockings and boots. Except this year, the season of autumn is inspiring a new spin on fashion: autumn 2010 is all about colour. Not the muted tones of the last hundred autumns before now; I’m talking about vibrant fuchsias, greens, and ceruleans that are taking the stage this season.

And not only is autumn about colour, it’s also about showing off your curves. No longer will the heroine chic, Twiggy stick figure take precedent. Autumn is about embracing the pumpkin pie and cider and the tea with two sugars (instead of one). It’s about wearing elegant shades of purple and deep reds that hug your zaftig silhouette, illustrating your feminine shape. It’s about being one hundred percent woman.

So say goodbye cloaked-in-dark-gray Kate Mosses about town. Now autumn means walking through Primrose Hill Park as you watch all the bright hues of orange and red leaves soak in the city, as you yourself reflect the lively colours that autumn naturally brings. I believe it’s much more suiting.

A clothing store that is also embracing this approach to colour is RomanOriginals. They love colour on a woman with a curvy shape. RomanOriginals offers an excellent collection of cardigans, dresses, knitwear, coats and more in all the bright colours of autumn. They offer all shapes and sizes, fitted just right to the woman that you are.

RomanOriginals also offers accessories and undergarments in case you were in need of a little extra pampering. It’s always nice to have new underwear, stockings, and a bag for the new season.

Shopping online at RomanOriginals grants you great discounts. When you this exclusive code at checkout, vg11810, you receive a free delivery with your purchase. RomanOriginals is also having an autumn sale right now where you may purchase an evening dress for only £15.00. And if you sign up for their email list, you will save 10% off your next order.

So make sure to swing by RomanOriginals to embrace your feminine, colourful side. Remember to visit VoucherGurus to save.

What are you doing this upcoming Bank Holiday? If you’re like me, maybe you haven’t made up your mind, but there’s still plenty of options left for affordable travel.

Personally I’m partial to a Parisian weekend getaway, and after the past couple weeks of entertaining guests at my place, it’s high time I treated myself to a mini vacation. I consider it some kind of divine intervention that my guests find themselves picking up and leaving before the Bank Holiday. I love my friends and family, but Halleluja!

My first stop usually is Rail Europe, and as expected, they’re featuring tickets to Paris starting at just £69. Considering I’ve got friends to shack up with, this stay promises to be incredibly affordable. I can instead spend my money on pretty things I don’t need, and of course, food.

For individuals going to Paris—or anywhere, really—there’s also eBookers.com for affordable hotels and travel extras. With stays from as low as £28 per night, just about anyone on any salary can kick back their heels this holiday weekend without breaking the bank!

And for a little stay-at-home tourism, I look to 365Tickets.com. It’s all too easy to take for granted the sights you pass by everyday, but a good way to add flavour to that bland everyday existence is to pretend you’re a tourist in your own town! Some of you might scoff at this suggestion, but I guarantee you’ll have a blast.

Of course you could always stay at home for a long relaxing weekend—I’m no stranger to that approach either. Just remember you can sleep when you’re dead—traveling is for the young (and the young of heart)!

Saving money, on the other hand, is for everyone. With that said, be sure to stop by VoucherGurus before you make any travel purchases for the best Rail Europe vouchers, eBookers discounts and 365Tickets.com deals.

Happy travels!

Tip Top Textbook Deals for Back to School

{summary} Summer’s almost through and Fall is just around the corner. ‘Tis the season for ‘Back to School’ and that means a whole new round of textbooks. A bit frightening, right? I hear the word “textbook” and immediately associate the word with pound signs. But don’t let ‘Back to School’ blues get you down! Believe it or not there are ways to avoid the annual assault to your bank account. I have a few online retailers for you to find this year’s textbooks at incredibly low prices. And when school is finally out, you also have the opportunity to sell your books and be rid of them once and for all! So keep reading, and learn my shopping antidote for the ‘Back to School’ budget blues.

The best method for saving money on textbooks is obviously buying them second-hand. Two retailers that make this method a breeze are Alibris and AbeBooks.co.uk. The set-up on both sites is similar to Amazon. You can search a book by title or subject, and the search results show you different purchasing options for that single item. Most books have used options that are up to 90% off retail value! I found calculus books for as low as £1.20 at AbeBooks.co.uk and French dictionaries at Alibris for as low as £1.53. No matter what subject you’re looking for, these retailers have tons of textbooks available so be sure to stop by and take a peak.

Now, once the school year has come to an end, what will you possibly do with all of those once highly valued books that you’ll most likely never read again? Sell them back, of course! Both Alibris and AbeBooks.co.uk have individual seller options that allow you to easily sell your used textbooks to other consumers. Alibris has a great system where you pay a small membership fee as you sell your books instead of a steep membership fee every month like most used book retailers. You don’t even have to list your books at AbeBooks.co.uk. They will buy most of your books back right away, and they offer free delivery of the books you sell to them. Both are really great choices, so make sure to take a moment and check them out.

So this Fall, remember to visit VoucherGurus for loads of additional savings with Alibris voucher codes and AbeBooks.co.uk discounts and deals.

I’m not the most technologically-savvy individual, even if I can give my parents a run for their money. For everything else, I turn to my brother Liam. He designs websites for a living and enters electronic code gibberish—you know the type. He could probably hack into my computer without blinking. Luckily we’re past our pranky teen years and he can help me with any computer woes.

Recently I was impressed with his ability to copy a couple of my favourite DVDs to my iPhone so quickly. I’ve gotten used to his electronic aptitude, but when I snooped around his home office, I stumbled upon quite a discovery.

The secret to a great deal of my brother’s seemingly all-powerful technological knowledge? Roxio UK. He had in his possession their Easy Video Copy & Convert, the trickster!

Not that I can blame him: it’s basically a really effective cheat sheet for converting DVDs to other media forms so you can take them with you wherever you go. Given how busy he is, this kind of program is sure to help free up his time.

Fair enough. But that doesn’t mean I can’t be a little bit miffed at the fact that he let me believe he could basically perform magic to take care of my electronic requests. Now I know better and I can check with Roxio UK to take care of my own needs. I have a feeling this will be a relief for both of us.

I did, however, take extreme pride in the fact that I taught him something for once: VoucherGurus.co.uk has great Roxio vouchers and discounts, including their own exclusive 15% off any product with voucher code gurus15roxio!

My brother may be good at the technological stuff, but I’m the one that knows how to find a good bargain. And hey, at least now that I have Roxio, I can at least pretend I know what I’m doing, right?

Don’t answer that.

{summary} I’ve played many sports in my life, but if I had to choose the most difficult sport it would most certainly be golf. And if you don’t agree, then you’ve never played. The skill and discipline required to play golf well obviously comes with loads of practice. When it comes to discipline, golf fans are a different breed. Most golf fans wouldn’t describe golf as just a game. Golf is a passion. And after watching Louis Oosthuizen win the Open Championship this year, I would assume many golf enthusiasts are working a bit harder on their game. So if you live for golf, keep reading and I’ll show you a couple of websites to help you improve your golf game.

{summary}These days, it seems that everyone has a website, blog, or other online presence. In fact, if you don’t, get the bloody heck back into the 20th Century! Even my flatmate’s 6-year old is internet savvy, surfing the net like an old pro. In fact, I’m pretty sure there are even dogs that have their own web pages, courtesy of their overzealous (can you say obsessive?) owners.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, I’d like to tell you that you can use a website to bolster your business, get your work or art out there, or simply express your ideas. Artists can showcase their paintings, drawings, and photographs for the world to see and/or purchase. You can advertise your special skills, whether you are anything from a dog-sitter to a seamstress, to an interior designer. You can post personal videos, video projects, and other media for the world to see. You can start your own blog page, and let the universe know just what you are thinking.
Whether you own a business, or just would like to get your opinions, ideas, or face out there, you will need a web hosting provider and a domain name. This is the first step in having your own website, and there are a lot of options. Here at VoucherGurus, we have three great places for you to start launching your own internet world. With straightforward pricing and no hidden catches, you could start small with just your own domain name for as little as £15.00 for 2 years from BritishNIC.com, or get the whole monty with a web hosting package with a dedicated server for £99.99 a month from UKHost4U.com. You choose how much or how little you want to spend, and how much you want to get out of your internet. LunarPages.com offers basic hosting plans as little as $4.95/month American, with unlimited storage.

C’mon—don’t you think it’s time YOU got yourself out there? Be visible. Be brilliant. And stop by VoucherGurus.com to grab fabulous money-saving vouchers and codes before you shop!

{summary} How do you preserve a memory? You take a photo. Then what? It goes into a photo album and collects dust until we look at it again. Well… I guess if you live in 1985. We are so fortunate to live in an age where there are so many options available to us to keep our memories vivid and alive. And all of these technologies may be a bit intimidating to those who aren’t familiar with computers. My mother, for example, is not incredibly computer savvy. She often refers to the internet as the “interweb” and has terrible trouble not only opening her email, but navigating to the website where it’s held. However, she surprised me. I received a package in the post the other day and it was a photo book of our family Christmas from my mother. Could it be? Did my mother create this fantastic, modern treasure I can keep forever? Well, it turns out it could be. She stumbled upon a website that was easy for her to understand and she was able to create photo projects without much trouble. This magical website was/is SnapFish.

When I found out I was to write a blog about SnapFish
(besides falling over with laughter), I couldn’t wait to share this experience. If my mother can use SnapFish
, so can you. SnapFish
allows you to do so many very cool things with your photos. You can edit your photos, create slideshows and show them to family members and friends anywhere in the world. If you want to create something a bit more tangible, you can of course create photo books (which are apparently a breeze to complete), make calendars, cards, and order traditional prints. SnapFish
is an amazing resource that is not only easy to use, but is available for low prices.

Now that I’ve peaked your curiosity about SnapFish go and see for yourself! But before you go, be sure to stop by VoucherGurus for Snapfish voucher codes and discounts. Your memories are priceless and deserve to be preserved with SnapFish.

Take Your Vitamins and Take Back Your Health

{summary} Your health is probably one of your top concerns. However, with today’s fast-paced lifestyle, most of us keep rather busy. It’s easy for something as vital as monitoring our health to fall low on our list of priorities, as absurd as it sounds. I am absolutely guilty of this. And every year, when cold season returns and I am magically ill, I curse myself for not taking the proper precautions. Well never again! With the convenience of the Internet and the help of the following retailers, I’ll show you easy ways to get the vitamins and supplements you need to stay healthy. And if it’s as simple as taking a daily pill, why not?

First stop, Vital Vitamins. The name doesn’t lie. This vitamin supplier has all the most vital vitamins for low prices. Their website is also easy to navigate and has a useful search function to quickly find what you need. I found these children’s multivitamins for just £1.79. Not bad. Definitely worth a peek. Moving on to Your Health Food Store a retailer that, you guessed it, also specializes in healthy food. However, they do have a brilliant selection of vitamins that is worth your attention. I love this website because you can search for vitamins by ailment. So for instance if you’re concerned about the health of your liver, you can simply click on the Detoxify/Liver Care section and tada! Several suggestions of combating that health issue pop up, and you can choose what you’d like to try. It’s handy and educational. So be sure to check out these picks to be the future supplier of your vitamins, but keep reading because there’s one more retailer you should know about.

Ok, last stop, Discount Supplements. Don’t let the simple name fool you. I gave this retailer it’s own paragraph because it’s the website you want to visit when you’re ready to take your vitamin experience to the next level. You can find the latest in vitamin complexes, enhancers, and Vitabiotics products.
Good Tea Makes The World Go Round

On a cold, blustery day, there’s nothing like a warm cup of tea. Or on a warm, summer day come to think of it. Long story short? Tea is a good thing any time of day or year.

Besides tasting great, studies have shown that tea-drinkers show less cognitive decline than non-tea drinkers. Not to mention tea’s ability to help the drinker relax, thereby relieving muscle tension. It’s a win-win, really.

Not that I have to tell a Brit any of this. Others may tease us about tea-time, but it’s clear they just haven’t caught on to this beneficial and simple ritual. And that’s quite alright—more for us to enjoy!

Since in my household we go through tea so quickly it seems as though I’m always stocking up at the store, I’ve taken to shopping for tea online. I can buy in bulk more easily, and frankly the quality is better than what I manage to round up at the store.

Adagio Teas, for example, carries many kinds of full-leaf gourmet teas, including loose leaf and iced teas. In short: all the varieties I personally enjoy. With free delivery on orders of £30 or more (a figure I easily reach, every single time), it’s most definitely worth catering to my tea addiction by shopping online.

Another essential stop is TeaWorld, with over 400 teas to choose from. My favourite discovery is their teas for seasonal allergies, starting at just £1.95! They do wonders for the sniffles and sneezes.

For those of you wise enough to save money by shopping online, I recommend VoucherGurus.co.uk for all the latest Adagio Teas vouchers and TeaWorld discounts. You’ll be able to keep more money in your wallet and stock up on enough tea to last a lifetime—or at least a couple of months!

{summary}Today’s modern world provides us with more entertainment then we can shake a stick at. Television, the movies, video games, the internet…with so many things to watch and do right from our homes, it is easy to forget the theatre. Sitting on our sofas, we have all the comforts of our abode, but what are we missing? The lights, the curtains, the live acting and the buzz of the crowd, for starters. In theatre, there are no outtakes or editing; what you see is what you get. Sitting in an audience, you can share the magic with those around you, and feel the drama emanating from the actors and actresses themselves. Theatre is a form of high art, and though there might not be CG monsters and high-speed car chases, there is nothing that can compare to the personal experience of being in the very room where the magic happens.

No commercials, previews or prima donna stars…actors and actresses of the theatre put the show ahead of the individual ego. It is a group effort and like a snowflake, each show can be different than the last. The moods of the actors and the crowds on a particular night can affect the final outcome, making it an community experience for all those present. That said, when is the last time you went to the theatre to be a part of this? Isn’t it time to step away from the computer or the telly, and get out to see some live entertainment? I know I haven’t gone since I was a little girl, and it has been just too bloody long!

TheatreBreaks.com, or LondonTheatreDirect.com, can be the place to start your next theatre adventure. They can not only book your show, but help you create a whole whimsical night, from meals and other local attractions, to the hotel you stay in afterward. Perfect for vacationers, or just a few romantic folks who want an exciting night away. Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, The Lion King, Wicked, Les Miserables, or just some beautiful ballet…whatever your fancy, Theatre Breaks or London Theatre Direct will help you book it, along with the rest of your fun-filled evening. They make it a doddle to plan a night to remember! Take a date, take your family, but just don’t fanny around—get out of the house and do it!
And before you run off to experience the live fun, be sure to stop by VoucherGurus.com to nab savings codes, vouchers, and other brilliant deals.

Long live LIVE entertainment!

Your mouth is dryer than if you’d been pub-crawling all night, your eyes are bloodshot, and at this point, you are glad you can even spell your own name. I love summer for many reasons (who doesn’t?) but if there’s one drawback to great weather and days spent on the beach, it’s that I barely ever get a chance to wear my favourite article of clothing: jeans.

I remember when I was a little girl just trying on my first pair. I absolutely hated them! They chafed and were bloody uncomfortable. After getting used to the idea and realising that there’s a “breaking in” period with jeans, I discovered how much I liked them. Now it’s downright embarrassing how many pairs I own.

My boyfriend shares my enthusiasm—maybe not to the same degree, but he shares it nonetheless. He’s the one who introduced me to his favourite designer brand: Schultz Jeans. Besides being incredibly comfortable for him, they include a unique “Schultz strap” which essentially guarantees you’ll never need a belt again!

Schultz Jeans has expanded to include women’s jeans, in the ever comfortable “boyfriend” cut. Women the world ‘round will rejoice when they discover this cut—it’s airy, comfortable, and despite what many women might think at first, men LOVE them on their ladies! Trust me on this one.

The best part? My man and I can go shopping together—virtually of course—but it’s a start! No more dragging him to the mall kicking and screaming to watch me try on pair after pair: a big relief for both of us.

So if you decide to branch out and try Schultz Jeans—either for yourself or any man in your life—be sure to stop by VoucherGurus.co.uk first for all the latest and greatest Schultz Jeans vouchers and discounts, including their own exclusive 20% off discount with voucher code GURUS20.

{summary}

I don’t know about anyone else, but office supply stores are a guilty pleasure of mine. Call it an addiction, if you like.

Back in my school days I had an actual excuse for collecting pens and notebooks, but nowadays I have to be a wee bit more clever. Imagine my excitement when I found out that VoucherGurus is displaying a host of limited time Staples discounts and vouchers—I couldn’t make a mental list of supplies I want/need fast enough!

Fact: as a working woman, you can never have enough coffee. NESCAFÉ coffee is now at its lowest price ever (£16.49) with Staples voucher code JM-366133. You can bet that’s the first thing I loaded onto my virtual shopping cart—I’m a bit of a nightmare without my daily dose of caffeine. Trust me on this one.

As a writer in my spare time, I have a slight thing for pens. I know I can just use my computer, but there’s something old-fashioned and utterly satisfying about the physical act of writing in a journal or notebook. Cue my excitement to learn that I can buy one pack of Bic Biro Pens for only £2.09 and get a second free! After I’m done getting a few packs in all available colours, I should be set for life.

Use the following voucher codes:
BM-406261 (Blue Ink)
BM-406262 (Black Ink)
BM-406263 (Assorted Ink)

Finally—and this truly couldn’t be any more opportune—Staples is offering Henry Hoover vacuums for only £79.99 with voucher code BP-366402. My last vacuum broke down literally last week, and while I could probably pay to have it fixed, I sort of doubt that it’s worth it—the thing is as ancient as a dinosaur, after all.

Bottom line? Staples is the perfect outlet for the office supplies junkie like me. If you need (or just want) some great deals on office supplies, head on over to VoucherGurus.co.uk first for the latest Staples vouchers and discounts!

As for justifying the purchases to yourself, just remember that discounts like those being offered at Staples don’t come around very often. It worked for me!

All good things happened in the past. Isn’t that what they always say? Vintage clothing is far better than anything that’s out now. In fact, some could argue that almost all fashion around now has been influenced by—or, even copied from—the past. Whether it’s the 60’s, 70’s, or, sadly, even the 80’s, you can see all the trends out walking the sidewalks today.

Lower prices, stronger values, a healthier environment; are these things always just going to be in our past? I think the one thing we can learn from this popularity of everything retro is that the good things should never be forgotten. In fact, we should celebrate, and continue to enjoy, them.

That’s why I thought I’d tell you all about the fantastical nature of Chewbz. Chewbz is your online destination for retro candy. That’s right—all those favorite sweets you used to eat as a kid are back for your enjoyment! Chewbz carries everything from drumstick lollies, fruity pops, fizzers and climpies, to flying saucers, fried eggs, and kola kubes. To be completely honest with you, I haven’t heard of any of these candies. But they all look like delicious fun rolled into an incredible assortment just waiting for your consumption. And, I paid a visit to the Chewbz blog, so I know there are those out there who absolutely love these retro treats.

With Chewbz, you can choose how your old favorites are packaged for you. If you’re buying for “a friend,” you can get a gift box filled with all the best retro sweets. If you’re going for something a little less traditional, try the Sweetshop Hamper. You get all the same treats, but in a much more original packaging. Or, if you simply want your candy as soon as you can lay your hands on it, check out the Tuck Shop Sweet Jar. With the jar, you can see exactly what you’re getting into, so you can pick out your favs and save the rest for later. Whatever you choose, you’re sure to get the candy that will put your sweet tooth to rest…at least, for a bit.

The olden days don’t have to be over. Fashion proves that, and now Chewbz does as well. But before you blow your next paycheck on your old favorite sweets, be sure to check out the latest Chewbz vouchers and discounts found online at VoucherGurus.co.uk. Right now, we’ve got an exclusive code that will save you 10% off your order, so it’s even more like old times! Why don’t you Chewbz on that for a while?

A few months ago my best friend got married. The engagement was incredibly short, so I’d barely had time to get over the fact that she tied the knot when she announced she was pregnant.

Apprehensive at first, I’ve had a few months to get excited to welcome my God-Daughter into the world!

Now that I’m up to speed, I was shopping the other day and decided that maternity wear is pretty damn cute. It has come a long way since the frumpy, bag-like outfits of days past. Once at home, I hopped online to check out possible birthday presents for my expectant mother of a friend.

She’s not entirely huge, but that won’t last long. My first stop? Bumps Maternity, where great style collides with the comfort and ease of maternity wear. In addition, there’s some great practical baby slings that will come in handy after the baby is born.

Fun Mum, by nature of the name, is a total must-stop for maternity wear shoppers. I could’ve bought the whole store if I’d let myself, but I limited myself to a couple fun and breezy tops. Being pregnant in the summer heat must be tough, after all!

Last but not least was Tiffany Rose, for a little more glamourous touch. My friend likes to get dressed up, so while I can’t afford to buy her an evening gown, I definitely can point her in the right direction.

For extra savings I used VoucherGurus to check out the best Bumps Maternity vouchers, Fun Mum savings and Tiffany Rose discounts. Because new mums deserve to look fashionable and save money!

{summary}I’m sure every Brit will agree with me that New York epitomizes the idea of America. Growing up in Massachusetts, New York was just a hop, skip, and a jump away. Unfortunately, I moved out west long before I was 21, so I never got to really “experience” the city. New York is exciting for any age group; it has a million things to see and do, including 23,000 restaurants to try. There’s the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. Then there’s Broadway, the opera, comedy shows, and art gallery openings…but there are a couple reasons to go to New York that you might not have thought of, and they are on the streets!
Have you really experienced the myriad of street performers? Did you know that the street performers are hand-selected by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority by audition, and it’s been going on for 25 years this way? What this means to a traveler like you or I is that going there means watching some of the best street performers in the country. The diversity of talent itself is a sight to behold. From tricks to music, there is never a dull moment on the streets of New York.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not one to waste my time. If I’m looking for a specific item—let’s say a printer—I much prefer to shop at a place where I can also find a desk I can put my new printer on. Call me lazy. Call me efficient. Call me Ishmael.

This is the exact reason why I absolutely adore Staples. Anything you could possibly need for your office, you can find there. Let your employees plant their bottoms on the best office chairs around. In fact, Staples is currently running a buy one chair, get one free for select products!

Maybe we’re getting a little ahead of ourselves. After all, what can you do without the use of a computer these days? Get it all started with great deals on laptops—everything from HP and Compaq, to Toshiba and Packard Bell. Plus, your laptop will be delivered for free the very next day so you can get your business up and running in no time.

Of course, you can find some amazing tables and workstations to accompany your plethora of chairs that we’ve already discussed. You might also want to pick up some filing cabinets and room dividers while you’re at it. And make sure you spice it up a bit with some trendy lamps (fluorescents are so last season) and reception tidies (always good to keep things looking dapper). Top it all off with a wide selection of display boards so your company will be sure to keep the ideas flowing!

One thing all great bosses know is how to keep their employees happy. And, as with all great business deals and transactions, that begins with food. Find everything to keep your employees’ tummies content at Staples, with chocolate, snacks, and water dispensers all at your fingertips. And let’s not forget the most important item of all: caffeine. Staples has coffee, coffee makers, teas, and soda; everything you need to keep your employees working hard.

With so much to offer, it can be a bit daunting shopping online at Staples. Might I suggest ordering a catalog? It’s free, easy, and extremely convenient for those of us who find navigating websites just a tad bit taxing. Whatever your preference, just be sure to stop by VoucherGurus.co.uk first to save even more with the latest Staples vouchers, discounts, and promotions.

Procrastination Train: Next Stop Father’s Day

Is anyone else a last minute kind of person? The thrill of a deadline looming over me always caused inspiration to strike when I was in school, and I’m beginning to think that same kind of principle applies for my post-graduate self as well.

I’m not just referring to research papers and group projects, either. I’m talking online banking, credit card payments (I’ve never fully missed one, thankfully)—and yes—holiday shopping.

Some of you might reassure me that I have plenty of months to go before I need to concern myself with holiday shopping, but I’m not talking about those holidays. I’m much more concerned with Father’s Day, which is just around the corner.

To get some ideas flowing (not to mention savings), I went to VoucherGurus.co.uk and searched their selection of Father’s Day coupons. Instead of being clueless about what to get my Dad for Father’s Day, I’m now faced with the opposite problem: there are just too many options!

If I want to go the jewellery route, I can get 15% off Father’s Day watches with Stauer voucher code AW15OFF, and right now I can enjoy Find Jewellery savings of up to 50% on men’s jewellery.

My Dad is a pretty stylish man, so the Koodos voucher code CKDIESEL20 that saves me 20% off Diesel and CK menswear is a pretty appealing option.

To supplement his coffee habit, another option I’m considering are personalised gift sets from PersonalisedMugs.com. Right now gift sets are starting at only £13.99 and delivery is included!

With all these options (and more online at VoucherGurus.co.uk), I might never get around to deciding on the perfect gift. One thing I know for sure? My Dad will love whatever I end up getting him, but he’s going to love spending the day with me more.

And only I need to know how much money I saved to make both of us happy!

Happy Father’s Day to all the new and old Dads out there!

Geared Up For The World Cup

{summary}The countdown to the 2010 FIFA World Cup is almost over! In a few short days, football fans the world ‘round will rejoice and station themselves in front of the telly, while the snacks and booze flow.

While I’m not the most dedicated football fan around, I couldn’t possibly root for any team other than England between 11 June and 11 July 2010. It will be especially fun to egg on my flatmates. You see, we’re an international bunch—a detail that might prove to be (exciting, scary, hilarious?) in the month to come as we cheer on our respective teams.

First off we have Alice,* our resident American expatriate, who will be weeping in defeat after Saturday’s match. As if they have a chance against England!

Next there’s Nancy: Canadian-born, Portuguese by blood. Needless to say, her heart bleeds green and red. And if Portugal doesn’t make it, (and let’s be honest here…) then she’ll switch to Brazil and resident hottie Ronaldo. I’m with England all the way, but even I can admit they make ‘em good down south in Brazil!

As for my final flatmate, Gianni—could he be any more Italian?—I think you can deduce where his loyalties lie. He’s probably the most passionate fan of the four of us, making me almost wish—almost—that Italy will win if only so I can avoid the carnage and emotional backlash that will surely result in the wake of an Italian defeat.

Clearly the next month at our place is going to be very lively. We’re hosting a few parties, starting this Saturday with the England v. United States match. I can’t wait, (did I mention Alice will be weeping in defeat?) and my new England jersey from Kitbag will proudly be worn. Speaking of Kitbag, everything World Cup related of theirs is now 10% off!

UKSoccerShop.com is offering some pretty incredible World Cup deals as well, so for those of you not fully decked out as of yet, I suggest you take advantage of VoucherGurus for Kitbag vouchers and UKSoccerShop deals, and most importantly GET PUMPED for the 2010 World Cup!

*Names have been changed to protect these individuals from the embarrassment that comes with the crushing defeat of their favourite teams.

Itching to get away? There’s something about this time of year that makes you restless, antsy, and aching to just relax…somewhere else. Everyone’s idea of a holiday is different. Some like a sunny, warm climate with beaches galore. Others prefer to be surrounded by trees and nature.

Urban Street Fashion for Blokes

{summary}Urban street fashion is all the rage right now. I always knew it wasn’t just us ladies that were concerned with fashion: now there are more merchants and online stores catering to men’s fashion than I can count.

It’s kind of refreshing to know that men care about their looks. It helps me out when I need to go gift shopping for the men in my life. Fashion I can handle. Tools and gadgets? Not so much.

My younger cousin’s birthday is coming up, so I started doing some research online. He loves rap music, skateboarding and just about every sport. I don’t know a bloody thing about rap or skateboarding, but I did come across a few stores that feature skate, hip hop and urban streetwear. If you’re shopping for the teenage-or-otherwise-young-blokes in your life (or even for yourself as there’s plenty of urban chic fashion out there for us females), you might want to take note and benefit from my research.

Yukka carries popular brands such as Adidas, Southpole, and DC Shoes. I found some fun hip hop hats and a few sporty shirts that I think baby cousin will like. What really caught my eye though is that Adidas has their own World Cup collection on sale! For a football fanatic like my cousin, I’d say that’s a match made in heaven.

My next stop was UrbanRetro, which offers a fresh take on the urban street fashion craze. Their selection of t-shirts, polos and hoodies are fashionable but also clean and crisp enough that my cousin’s parents might even approve! And if I decide clothes aren’t the right thing, there’s always a great selection of art prints, gelaskins for his many electronics, and ultra practical wallets.

Lastly I stopped by Wellgosh just because I know he loves their large collection of brand name shoes. With how active he is and considering he’s still growing a meter a day, shoes are something he’s always in need of. Wellgosh’s tees and outerwear aren’t too shabby either, with witty phrases and decals teenage boys (and dare I say men?) everywhere can appreciate. Don’t want to take my word for it? Check out this video featuring the behind the scenes of Wellgosh’s 2010 collection.

Now, before I make my final decision, there’s the obligatory stop at VoucherGurus to check out the latest Yukka vouchers, UrbanRetro discounts and Wellgosh deals.

And when it comes time for Christmas shopping, I know and you know where to go for all the blokes in our lives!

My Boyfriend’s Beach Body

{summary}
Okay so the title is a little deceiving for two reasons:
1) I don’t have a boyfriend.
2) My ex-boyfriend didn’t exactly have a beach body.

Not to completely discredit the bastard (I’m not really that bitter, I swear), he was attractive enough and well-toned. But sometimes a girl likes a little more…bulk.

My girlfriends and I recently got to gabbing about getting into shape for summer, and my only friend currently with a boyfriend (let’s just call her Nancy) decided to start working out with him as extra motivation for them both. It turns out he’d been wanting to get in shape for a while as he’s not exactly the most athletic specimen of man, so he checked out MaxiMuscle for inspiration and advice.

Lucky for him they’ve got an “8 Weeks to a Beach Fit Body” training and nutrition programme just in time for summer, so he jumped on board and six weeks into it is looking fantastic! The training and meal plans are easily accessible online at MaxiMuscle.com and specific product suggestions supplement the workout. While the regime is designed for men, my friend Nancy has undoubtedly benefited from it as well—and I’m not talking about what I know you think I’m talking about! It’s actually inspired her to start her own training programme, and the results are definitely paying off.

Lesson for me? It’s time to get over my ex-beau and start a workout programme of my own. And when Future Boyfriend comes around, I now know to point him to MaxiMuscle—and MaxiMuscle Coupons and Deals from VoucherGurus—to get him into shape and save at the same time.

How Not to Start a Monday

{summary}First, I was late for work when I couldn’t find my bloomin’ car keys and had to leg it to the train station instead. When I finally got to work and sat down, I noticed my empty pen caddy.

Where was my bloody favorite pen? Gone missing again? And by “missing”, I mean, one of my coworkers nicked off with it again! I thought I knew which dodgy coworker might be responsible…and I needed to put paid to this pen-stealing situation before I really lost it. So then, as I rolled back in anger and disgust, I also noticed my normal desk chair had been swapped out with a wonky one! Now I was really gutted! To try to calm down (my pen-snatching coworker wasn’t due in for another hour and so, for the time being, my rage had to be contained) I decided to go make some copies I needed for the day.
So I go round to the bloody copier, and wouldn’t you know it—it was out of ink, and I needed those copies for a meeting first thing! I’ve really had the hard line today, and it was barely the first coffee break!

Well, I guess I’d be in the right if I’d thrown a bit of a tantrum and really went barmy, but that wasn’t going to get my pen back or the copies made. So I sucked it up, sat down in the wonky chair, grabbed an inferior pen, and made a list of everything the office needed. Then, I calmly revised the list (as in, scratched off “lobotomy” for my pen-stealing coworker), and grabbed my mouse. After all, if I was to be the only competent person in the office, I needed to take control. Any good soldier knows he (or she) who controls the supplies wins the battle! I checked out VoucherGurus.co.uk, grabbed some voucher codes, and I placed an order with Staples.co.uk, and placed a second order with Euroffice.co.uk. That covered everything on my list (minus the lobotomy), and made me feel a bit better all at once. If someone was bound and determined to scrump my blimey pen, I figured I’d just get an entire box of them! That way everyone can have their own, and leave mine bloody well alone! The wonky chair is on its way out too; that is another office supply I am getting delivered (for free!) right to our office door. Plus, both sites offer bundle savings on larger orders.

I will never sweat a stolen pen again, as long as I have Staples and Euroffice in my corner. I may not LOVE my job, but I sure do a cracking-good job of it! And these sites make it all the easier.

Do yourself a favor and order your office supplies online, lest you live by Sod’s Law the rest of your natural life! I prefer to take matters into my own capable hands…how about you?

Cor Blimey! I’m Out of Bloomin’ Contacts!

{summary}In this world, unfortunately, there are many things we tend to take for granted in the whirl of work, family, and chores. Often we don’t notice the little things, until they cease to work! Our eyesight is one such thing. You might not think about your glasses until you break them, or, like me, go through the ritual of putting my contacts in unconsciously…that is, until I realize I’ve opened my last blistered pack. In a perfect world, we’d all have flawless eyesight, and never be bothered by an inability to enjoy the finer details of life completely unassisted. In fact, now that I think of it, it’s rather regrettable that anyone has to rely on external items to be the best we can be, but it is an unavoidable part of life for many of us. I need a brazier to hold up my “ladies”, shoes to protect my feet from the dirty streets, and contact lenses to help me distinguish my apartment door from my neighbors. Without these things, oddly enough, I feel less like myself.

Did you know that worldwide, 1.6% of the population wears contacts or glasses? That may not sound like much, but that is over 96 million people. 96 million other people who, like me, fumble for their glasses blindly in the morning. 96 million others who fall asleep right knackered from time to time with their contacts in, only to wake up with their eyes feeling crusted shut. I am certainly not alone in my struggles, or my flaws. And being that I am a happy person in general, I try to bite the bullet and not let it all get me down. The only time I find myself cursing aloud about my lack of natural vision is when I didn’t have the foresight (pardon the pun!) to buy that next box of contacts before I desperately needed them. (I am quite guilty of wearing a ripped contact all day because of this; blinking profusely and telling people my allergies are acting up in lieu of admitting I was lazy and let my prescription run out!)

That is why I have started to go round VoucherGurus.co.uk when I am running out of contacts. Instead of waiting until I desperately need a new pair, I now take care to notice when I am getting low, and then see which online store in VoucherGurus currently has the best coupons. Right now, Contacts for Lenses offers a voucher good for up to 70% off on contacts. Cosmetic Lenses offers up to 40% off and color contacts as low as £8. EuroLens is offering free delivery and up to 70% off contacts. Visit our site to get a voucher from Get Lenses which gives you two free weeks of lenses with a six-month purchase, or take 20% of any purchase. Glasses Direct has up to 68% savings on designer glasses and incentives for new customers. Lens Catalogue and Lens Planet also offers up to 70% off, and free delivery with minimum spend. Last but not least, Lensway.co.uk offers RefillExpress to make reordering easier, and will deliver for free if you order 4 boxes of contacts or more. With this many deals on VoucherGurus.co.uk, you have no excuse to let your contacts run out again.

Perhaps one day, I will truly learn to embrace even my flaws. Until then, I may remain a tad bitter that I really can’t go braless anymore, and that my vision isn’t 20/20. But life is complicated enough without getting hung up on the little things. I shop online for my contacts now, and life just got a little sweeter.

Get Out of the Bloody House!

{summary}Lately, I’ve been feeling friskier; cheekier. It can only mean one thing…summer is coming, and it’s time to figure out how to use these precious months wisely. After all, everyone wants to enjoy the weather and sunshine while they can, so how do you spend this valuable time? On what spectacular activity can you expect to get the most for the time investment? You could hang out at a beach, assuming you are coastal, but that is really cliché, and frankly, I think you deserve better.

This summer, get wild. I’m not talking about getting sloppy, bladdered-drunk and breaking your platform heel outside a pub. I’m taking about nature-wild. Trees. Mountains. Hiking. Bug spray. Kayaking. Bears sniffing around your goods while you shiver, completely exposed, nearby in a paper-thin tent. You know; the good stuff! The stuff that really makes you grab life by the bullocks! It’s nature, baby! And you might as well enjoy it while you can. Because it won’t be summer forever, and you’re no spring chicken, as they say. And neither am I. So let’s get to the knitty-gritty here, cuz times-a-wastin’! Get your arse off the sofa and away from the telly, and climb a mountain! Stop faffing around and scale a cliff like Spiderman. Pitch a tent by the side of the river. Hike an old National Trail. Get out and DO something; appreciate this thing they call nature that is all around us, that we humans, for some inexplicable reason, seem to hide from in our little boxes more and more.

If you are waiting for the pitch, you are very, very smart. (But I will keep it short and sweet.) I LOVE outdoor stores; just being in them inspires me to be more daring and gritty, and care less how my blooming hair looks that day! Being in nature gives us permission to be wild and unkempt, like the rest of the natural world. Every time I go into an outdoor store, I feel a holiday coming on. But you; you are even more clever (and green!), because you save the gas and shop online. And so take your next adventure; get the heck off your sofa and pack a bag and some trail mix and GO! And yeah, stock up on your gear, and maybe even get inspired for the trip by browsing an outdoor site.

Tiso.co.uk has climbing offers, and a great variety of tents and other gear to make your outdoor adventure happen. Tentastic.co.uk is filled with tents to tickle your fancy in every imaginable kind. OutdoorGear.com has everything from sleeping bags to dog products. These three stores completely have your outdoor holiday covered. So what are you waiting for?

And don’t forget to save some quid by going round VoucherGurus.co.uk first to get our vouchers, exclusive codes, and other savings.

{summary}They say you can never be too rich, or too thin. In a perfect world, we’d all be a size “petite”, tooling around London in our BMW’s, our gorgeous blond hair flowing out behind us, and our Louis Vuitton bags busting with credit cards and cash. It would hardly ever rain, and you’d never get your heart broken, gain a kilo, or have to wait in line at the bank. Coins that dropped wouldn’t roll under the refrigerator never to be seen again, marina sauces wouldn’t stain, and our children would be well-behaved angels. Riiiiiight. Dare to dream!

In reality, most of us are not celebrity rich or celebrity thin. Most of us tool around the city in Fords and Corsas, with petulant children screaming from the back. We’ve had our hearts broken, and often more than once. That coin I dropped this morning indeed rolled under the fridge, and my shirt is a testament to the fact that marina does in fact stain. Life is not perfect—and neither are we! And while most of us do not live an exciting, fabulous life, most of us are doing the best we can to enjoy the small perks along the road of life, while avoiding life’s major potholes.

And this is where Roman Originals comes in. This is a store dedicated to providing comfortable, attractive, and affordable clothes to people like you and me; the “everywoman” who, while not perfect, embodies the reality of the hectic and demanding world today. Women who search for a bargain, value comfort, and enjoy simplicity in this highly complex world. This one-stop-shop has suits, coats, blouses and slacks for the office, and dresses, tops, and knitwear for our casual time as well. They also offer undergarments, and have accessories to complete the look. For those special times (when we get to pretend for a few hours life is a whirlwind of excitement and adventure) they offer elegant evening wear in “real” women’s sizes. With 30 new styles coming out each week, there is always something new to look on Roman Originals’ site, and the prices are extremely affordable. To boot, they offer free standard delivery in the UK when you spend just £45 or more. Visit RomanOriginals.co.uk to shop for all your clothing needs, and be sure to go round VoucherGurus.co.uk to grab all your savings vouchers before you shop.

{summary}

PriceMinister is the first website to bring together individuals and professionals who sell and buy new, used or collectable products at fixed prices. Unlike the other guys who require you to wait for the time to run down and then at the last minute someone who apparently has the time to sit and watch the clock swoops in and snags your deal for a few pence more. No price quibble, no scams, just decent set price deals with a fair trade policy on this site.

PriceMinister acts as a trusted third party between buyers and sellers, and guarantees that transactions are carried out quickly, securely and trouble-free. Here is the 4 simple steps to PriceMinister shopping. 1) The seller lists items free and shoppers browse the site for free. 2) Buyer makes a selection and safely pays PriceMinister by bank card using a secured payment system or through their e-Wallet. PriceMinister notifies the seller of their new sale, and sends a confirmation to the buyer within the next 3 working days. 3) The seller sends the purchased items direct to the buyer within the 2 working days following the order in standard or recorded delivery, according to the buyer’s choice. 4) Once the buyer has received their order, they confirm delivery by rating the seller on the site. PriceMinister then pays the seller the price of the sale, minus the commission, plus the fixed refund for P&P if applies.

Priceminister has categories including books, music, DVDs, video games, mobiles, computers, electronics, sports, fashion and toys and so much more. Right now, new customers can find discount vouchers at vouchergurus.co.uk to save £5 off any £10 purchase so now is the time to give this online buying a try. Whether it is a rare book title or new DVD release the stores cannot keep in stock, PriceMinister has entertainment media as low as £0.90. High street, suggested retail pricing just got scratched considering designer fashions can be found for so much less here. Gamers can get their fix for half the price and sometimes for up to a 90% discount. You can keep up with the ebb and flow of your child’s (or inner child’s) popular toy demand without going broke. Most items offered on the site have free standard delivery in the UK. PriceMinister provides an option to locate what you want faster and smarter.

Priceminister offers sellers a free virtual storefront to do business as they want, when they want with no overhead cost or employees to manage. The set up allows the seller to have a small or large presence depending our how much they choose to work at this enterprise. The site brings customer traffic at no additional expense. A seller can trade without worry of payment fraud. The small stipend paid for this marketing tool, online store and safe business practice makes it a true win/win opportunity for all.

It is really a fantastic deal. For the buyer, at the click of the mouse you can bargain shop for regular purchases or hard to find collectables. As a seller, it allows for a secure outlet to grow a business, or simply clear out belongings no longer needed. And for the good of all, the site offers the broadest range of cultural and hi-tech products in Europe, at the best price. Buying and selling just got safer with PriceMinister. Visit VoucherGurus to save before you buy sell and save at PriceMinister.

Get Your Summer Glow On

{summary}

Last year fair skin was the thing and only the truly dedicated were sporting the bronze look. But this year’s look is set to be sun-kissed again as shoppers are already stocking up on exfoliating scrubs and self tanning lotions. Maybe it is the warm weather peaking around the corner but I know when I finally peel off the winter wraps a bit of natural looking glow makes me more comfortable in the skin I’m in.

So first things first. Dry skin is your enemy with all the self tanning applications. Been there, done that and wore the streaks to prove it. You really need to sort that out before you try to go any further with tanning. Exfoliating doesn’t just help keep your skin looking young and fresh, it helps the tanners go into the skin evenly. Plus, exfoliating isn’t just for your face either—your whole body needs it. It can be done easily with your regular shower routine to remove dead skin cells and there are so many great scubs out there. If you enjoy a bath with luxury scented products, Abahna has a Frankincense & Sweet Orange Salt Scrub that is quite nice. Miss Bollywood has BOGO on bath and shower scrubs so a 50% deal is always enticing. My last pick is the one that is good for you. Cult Beauty has the Omega 3 & Flaxseed Body Exfoliator by Sundari with a 5 out of 5 star rating. Only after that is done do you dare start this at-home process.

Moving Forward, now it is time to choose a self tanner. For me, with something that I will live with for awhile, I go with proven tanning brands, Xen-Tan, Fake Bake, Clarins and Castanha should top the list. Miss Bollywood carries XEN-TAN lotion and gives a free Mitt (worth £3.75). A bit more spendy but worth it is Beautique’s Fake Bake Gold Kit. It is popular and now there is a save £10 deal on the kit. When you go to Salon Skin Care’s online store look for Clarins Self Tanning Milk which is great beacuse it also offers lasting SPF 6 sun protection with the fast tanner for £16.00. For the novice, there is a goof proof solution is at uk.loccitane.com with the Castanha Self-Tanning Sunshine Veil for the face and Sunshine Lotion for the body. This lightweight veil can be applied with a cotton pad like cleansing milk no streaking and no clogged pores. Right now, if you buy both Castanha products you get half off.

Today everybody is doing it, guys and gals. You may wear a sun-kissed glow all year around or like some of us just want to look like we spent the day at the beach even when we rarely have the time. The self tanning products on the market now make the choice so fast, easy and economical. So don’t be afraid to show a little skin when you’ve got your summer glow on.

Most of us have at least one special man in our life, whether it’s our husband, brother, friend, father, or even a particularly exceptional boss. There are two things I’ve learned about men in my day that are particularly relevant to this post. These may not be Truths with a capital T, but in my book the exception proves the rule. The first rule that I find to generally apply is that men hate to shop. Or at least dislike it. Or at least would much, much rather wait at the pub around the corner with a pint while someone other than them sees to the shopping. The second rule is that they like to look good. But they’d rather not put any effort into it.

Seeing as most of the men we know aren’t exactly a treat for the eyes before their morning grooming ritual one must hope that what their morning grooming ritual entails is effective. If it isn’t… Well, now we’re into a whole different sort of rule territory. The purpose of this post is to tell you about places where you can shop for the man (or men) in your life online - with plenty of savings - for products that should allow them to look good. This way you don’t have to suffer the hustle and bustle of the shop either, and instead you can both enjoy a pint at the pub, while he enjoys having fabulous hair to boot.

At Mankind they have everything any man could possibly need or want to help with shaving, skincare, bodycare, haircare, and fragrances. After all, “Eau de Night Before” is closer to “Eau de Sweat and Beer” rather than “Eau de Toilette”. If you shop for £30 or more in Giorgio or Emporio Armani you’ll get a free, snazzy Aqua Di Gio washbag and samples. My vote: Buy him one for Christmas and use the free gift to plump up his Christmas stocking. Make sure to save yourself 10% by using the voucher code MKNJ10, or better yet save 15% by using the voucher code MANKIND15. If you work your way up to £50 you’ll even get free delivery. They have tons more great ‘free’ offers so make sure you take a look before you shop. If your guy has a brand preference you might just be able to get something a little extra with your order.

At Carter and Bond you can find everything for your man’s lifestyle and grooming needs. Make sure you visit their Special Offers section to see what sorts of savings they’re offering, and if you’re feeling uninspired take a look at their Gift Ideas too. You never know what train of thought that might spark… What’s handy about shopping at Carter and Bond is when you tired of looking at men’s products you can hop on over to the lady’s section for a quick look around there too. If you find a bunch of products you like aim for the magic number, ‘cause £60 gets you free delivery.

Good luck with all your male grooming needs and wants. The holidays are always a good time to spoil our loved ones - and maybe get them to smell a bit nicer while we’re at it. VoucherGurus wishes you a wonderful weekend.

Say a Classy Thank You: Three Gift Ideas

{summary} For any gift occasion we face the challenge on giving the intended recipient something that they don’t already have but want. This makes gifts particularly challenging when giving to an older and/or more affluent crowd, as they tend to simply buy what they want when they want it (affluent) or have already gathered all their desires throughout their life (older). But there are a few choice gifts that will always bring a smile to a person’s face, a few tried and trusted, “can’t fail”, reliable presents. These tend to be gifts that delight our senses in one way or another, whether it is a delicious taste or smell. Here are three gift ideas that are perfect for a heartfelt thank you, but you may also use them to start planning for the holiday season.

1. Oddbins. The best part about Oddbins lies in its name. It allows you to scoop up a bottle of this or a bottle of that, without concern for filling an entire case of it. But if you would like to buy a larger quantity remember that you can save money by filling a case - full of odd bottles! Now you’ve suddenly jumped from buying one thoughtful gift that you need now, to eleven more thoughtful gifts that you can give down the road. After all, a fine wine only improves with age, so if they gather dust at the bottom of your gift-collection cupboard no harm will be done. Why not head over there and enjoy filling up a case with all your heart and palette desires. Besides - everyone goes to a dinner party once in a while. If you play your cards right with this thank you gift you might even get to enjoy a sip of it.

2. Sparkling Direct. Not only does this fantastic establishment offer the guaranteed addition of class to any event - bubbly, that is - but they are also fun and creative in putting together all sorts of gift baskets. Now, while no one really minds a basket of mixed soaps, I’m sure most would vastly prefer a basket of delicacies that make them feel as if they are sitting on the Riviera, being very posh indeed. Plus they offer free UK delivery. Not bad, eh? Not bad at all.

3. The Gift of Oil. I think the name gives this gift idea away… the idea being oil. Everyone’s kitchen can do with a snazzy set of extra-virgin olive oil and matured balsamic vinegar. Notice just how much snazzier it becomes when words like ‘extra-virgin’ and ‘matured’ are thrown into the mix? Why not check out The Gift of Oil when gearing up for the holidays. Plus forty quid gets you free shipping, and surely you have several great-aunts in need of feeling special?

Remember that VoucherGurus is always your source for the best ways to save when shopping online, not to mention the fantastic advice we give out absolutely free right here on our blog.

Party On: How to be a Successful Host

{summary}
Hosting a successful party lies in the details and the planning. We’re talking invitations, venue, food, drink, favors, and more. Despite the world’s best intentions, and even better planning, the ultimate fate of the party’s success will lie in whether or not the guests have fun. The build-up to the party can have a lot to do with this. As a guest, there’s a big difference between receiving a somewhat inebriated text message at 22:30 on a Friday night reading “having party - plz drop by - bring beers and cigs” and receiving a custom-printed invitation with a picture of the host’s face calling for a celebration of a special event. That’s why we here at VoucherGurus thought we’d walk through a few ideas for how you can throw the party that your friends will measure all subsequent gatherings against.

Picking a theme: Right now everyone’s party focus is on Halloween, but on Halloween any party you go to will be a mish-mash of witches, working girls and super heroes, probably with an unfortunate number of duplicates and an even more unfortunate number of folks who no longer fit into the costume they bought when at school 15 years ago. Your party theme doesn’t have to require costumes, but if it does we suggest you do something that everyone can have a good laugh at, and doesn’t give your female friends a blatant excuse to wear as little as possible. Favourite cartoon characters could be successful with the right crowd, or famous athletes. For more ideas visit FancyDress.com. If you find something you like for yourself there be sure to look into what sorts of vouchers and delivery offers they have running.
Sending out invitations: Custom invitations might be a bit of a purse-pincher these days, but they don’t have to be too pricey. Why not bring out the child in your guests with some fun invitations from It’s Your Story, and make sure you use their 10% off voucher code DISCOUNT10 to get the discount you deserve.

And all the rest…: Getting your venue ready for a hoard of excited party goers can be a lot of work. At Party Box they make that work quite a bit easier for you. Spend a few minutes surfing the site to see if you don’t find some decorations and party ware to suit your particular needs. They even offer free delivery when you spend £50 or more, and with the huge amount of party supplies they offer it’ll be the quickest and best £50 you’ve ever spent as a host.

Of course, don’t forget that guests enjoy a little something to nibble on and sip on once they arrive, so why not shop at Tesco’s to take care of your guests’ grumbling tummies. Balance each drink out with a snack and this shindig can go all night. Have fun!

All pet lovers agree: you’ve got to spoil your pet. They’re just as much part of the family, so why not? Besides, just because their love is unconditional doesn’t mean it should be taken for granted.

We’re all animal lovers here at VoucherGurus, which is why we wanted to highlight a few merchants and their best deals. Pet Supermarket is one of the UK’s largest selection of pet and animal food, care and supply. Use the code SAVE5 to get 10% off any online purchase, or join Pet Supermarket’s newsletter to get an automatic 5% discount. And when you purchase a pet ID tag, they’ll engrave it for free. For more great deals, click here.

Pets-Warehouse.com is another great option, with a $5 discount on habitats for your small animal when you enter SMALLHAB at checkout. Jet setters can get 20% off large air travel carriers with coupon code PETCARRIER20, and small animal pet owners can find great deals on products specifically designed for their tinier needs. VoucherGurus has plenty more Pets-Warehouse deals where those came from, and more stores that are worth checking out for the sake of your furry friends, including:

Pet Planet
PetCareRX
Pets at Home

So what are you waiting for? Not only will your pets appreciate all that you do for them, but your wallet won’t suffer too badly, either.

Even though Winter is approaching, it doesn’t mean all your fun has to end. Yes, certain activities may be out of the question, but why not spend a little time indoors getting to know your loved ones? Check out these great ideas for family time on a budget.

Try a family game night. Board games are a great way to have a little friendly competition. ToysRUs.co.uk is now offering a buy 2, get 1 free promotion on Mb/Parker Games including Monopoly and Jenga. If your family is a little more high-tech, try Guitar Hero. Right now you can get the game software for free when you buy the guitars so go ahead and be the rock star you’ve kept hidden all these years.

Jigsaw Puzzles are another way to bring your family together. With over 1350 different puzzles, All Jigsaw Puzzles is your one stop puzzle shop. Shop now and you can save 5-10% with a VoucherGurus voucher code plus they’ll send you a free gift with every order (who doesn’t love free gifts?). Delivery is only £2.79 so put the pieces together and order a puzzle today.

With all this family fun, you’re sure to work up an appetite. Might I suggest ordering in with PizzaHut.co.uk? Not only is their pizza delicious (my favorite is stuffed crust), but right now they’re offering a voucher code for buy 1, get 1 free. If 2 pizzas sounds like too much, there are also voucher codes for 25% off and a free dessert (Yum!).

So don’t let the winter months get you down, have family fun indoors for less with VoucherGurus!

Where to Shop and How to Save on Jeans

Buying jeans can be a complex task for even the most savvy shopper. However, throughout our lives we pick up some fundamental lessons in jeans shopping, such as whether we can wear high rise versus low rise, or skinny jeans make us look more like a pear and less like a celebrity, or perhaps we think flares should have stayed firmly in the 1970s, and should never have made a comeback again, and again, and again. Whatever our views, when shopping jeans there are a number of excellent stores out there, and of course VoucherGurus has plenty of ways you can save when it comes time to renew your denim.

At Acne they’ll let you be as traditional (see Her Basic Blue) or as wacky (see Kex Pleather) as you want, and of course you can try anything in between. I guess the beauty of being Swedish, as the Acne folks are, is that if you play your cards right (and wear your jeans right) you can wear pleather like a rockstar, and not like a fashion victim. Check out specials for Acne before you start shopping.

For the needs of the man in your life visit Burton. These guys do smart without spilling over into yuppy territory. They’re running a 50% off sale at the moment, where you can get jeans for only £10. Make sure you take advantage of Burton vouchers, and remember, if you spend £70 or more they’ll ship you your order for free.

If you’d like to wear designer jeans, but you’d rather not pay the full price, we have two particularly good stores on our jeans radar screens. The first is Fast Jeans, where you can get serious discounts on classic yet cool brands like Levis. The second is Swerve, which admittedly is a bit more snooty (in a good way), stocking the likes of Armani and Hugo Boss. But snooty is fine, so long as it doesn’t cost too much. Wouldn’t you just love to wear Diesel without having to pay the Oxford Street price?

Of course, even when name brands cost less, they still might pinch the purse a little bit. A high-quality lower-priced favourite of ours is ONLY. This shop consistently has nifty styles for lower prices. If you want to be a fashionista and wear what’s a la mode, then they’ll be able to provide you with those styles in their solid ONLY brand for just the right amount of dough. However, they also stock good, reliable styles and once you know your ONLY style, you’ll be able to enjoy it in different colours and washes for years to come. Plus their host of fun tops and accessories in all sorts of colours can really dress your jeans up or down, depending on your preference. If you can get fresh denim for as little as £25 on a normal day, we don’t see how we can’t recommend ONLY. Especially when they have a Sale section filled with goodies, too.

VoucherGurus wishes you all the best on the challenge that is jeans shopping. Remember to check back with us frequently so you can pay less and get more.

Retailers the world over are doing their bit for Breast Cancer Awareness in the month of October. The team at VoucherGurus has come across a number of ways you can show your support for The Cure while still enjoying savings from select retailers, so we thought we’d share some ideas on how you can give, and receive, during Breast Cancer Awareness month.

For only £1.50 you can buy the Betty Jackson Crusade Pin (pictured) from Avon, and you can wear it knowing the full retail price will be paid to Breakthrough Breast Cancer, a registered charity. While you’re there you may as well stock up on your skincare needs, and enjoy a free shipping coupon when you spend £20 or more. Click here for more Avon promotions. Remember to click the link to Help Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer, to support the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade.

Wear It Pink products at Debenhams come in a number of shapes and sizes, from pins, to t-shirts, to panties. You can, for instance, save 20% on the Wear It Pink Hi Leg Briefs, at the same time knowing that 50p will be donated to Breast Cancer Campaign. Debenhams has also teamed up with five of their designers to create unique Wear It Pink t-shirts. 30% of the selling price will be donated to charity. They have similar charitable promotions running on a range of accessories and lingerie. Be sure to see what vouchers are available to help you save before you checkout, while supporting research for The Cure.

Remember, when shopping in October look for ways to support Breast Cancer Awareness. Every penny counts.
